Which Poems Should I Read at Rosewood Arts and Music Festival 5 October?

I have one suggestion, and it is a good one! But what do you think? Readers, let me know either here or wherever you can contact me!

  Thanks!

Poem from "Gemini" Used in Research About Adjunct Faculty

I went to a focus group last year at Midlands Technical College led my colleague Dr. Melodie Hunnicutt conducted as part of her research into adjunct faculty. We adjuncts teach the majority of college classes here and nation wide. I told her I had a poem in "Gemini" entitled "Scholarly Mercenary" and she wanted to include it in her research.

Peter Fonda, RIP

Born into Hollywood royalty, Peter Fonda leaves behind an interesting and uneven cinematic legacy. You can read about that in the obituary.

But to me he will always be the reflective, thoughtful Captain America from the 1969 classic

Easy Rider. Paired with the loquacious and impulsive Billy, the motorcyclists set off to find America. Back then I had never been across the Mississippi, but had been from Quebec to Miami. I wanted to head west on a motorcycle, but only had a Schwinn bicycle. Travel had to wait a few years. My Wanderlust was there already, but the movie played a role in travel and in attitude.

What a great soundtrack to the movie! Here i the title song. Bob Dylan wrote the first line and told someone to get it to Roger McGuinn of the Byrds.

A Many-Layered, Thought-Provoking Film

A Fortunate Man (Lykke Per)  is a 2016 Danish film now on Netflix. Running almost for three hours ( it's based on eight novels), , the film probes issues of faith, character, and overcoming childhood problems. There is also a glimpse into the healing power of nature.
Lest anyone think that any state church stifles true religion, any religious expression can do so. Yes ,I am a Lutheran pastor, and know about "gloomy Danes", but there are some positive examples portrayed
The cast and cinematography care exec. I want to visit Denmark!

First black woman from anywhere to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, and winner of a Pulitzer, also.

I need to re/re-read some of her work.
