Joni Mitchell turned 71 on 7 November. Born in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, Canada, she deftly weaves through musical genres and has always been esteemed for her lyrics. "Song for a Seagull", her first album, especially shiens in that regard; she dedicated it to an English teacher.
