Here's My Take on that Horace Poem- Sapphic Form

 


Homage to Horace 23

 

Fawn-like, gently, lovely-limbed, Chloe, maiden!

In the greenwood searching at the break of day.

Cool dew moistens flowing gown, as you wander

     Among leafy trees.

 

From the edge of meadow wide you I notice.

There I long to see you glide over soft grass.

Morning sunlight breaking through ev’ry long branch

     As you come toward me.
