Happy 80th Birthday, Tom Rush!

 

     Tom Rush does not have an extensive discography. He has toured for decades, entertained countless people with his guitar virtuosity, mentored musicians, and introduced songs from unknown songwriters whom he helped become famous. Joni Mitchell is one of them.

     My wife and I saw him in 209 at the beautiful Newberry Opera House in Newberry, SC. Tom had several guitars and had no band or other singers. The audience was treated to his artistry, wit, and presence. Afterward, he autographed a CD I bought and we briefly chatted.
