Happy Labor Day!


   Forget Jimmy Hoffa and the rest of the sordid mess with labor unions. We can and should thank them for things like the 40-hour week, Workman's  Comp, unemployment insurance, for a few. I have been a union member several times as a part-time library worker at UC-Berkeley and as a teacher in Pennsylvania. South Carolina does not allow teachers to have unions, so I am in an association.
