Happy 80th Birthday to Sir Ray Davies!

    In my teenage and young adult years, I was blessed in many ways. One of them was to hear and eventually see musicians/singers who wrote profound and poetic lyrics. My guitar lessons ended, but not my writing. 

    Sir Ray Davies is one of those. He and the Kinks were capable of hard rock during the British Invasion, but he emphasized his lyrical side. "Waterloo Sunset" is one of the best early examples.
